TBH I can’t stand your sacrifices.

I hate the smell of how proud you are
of yourself as you snap the chat
and instantly share your religiosity
with the whole wide world.

TBH I value compassion.

I love the sweet perfume of a poured out life
hidden from 24 hour surveillance.
Tear stained cheeks and calloused knees
that nobody else sees move Me.

TBH I hate self-righteousness.

I send My Son to pay the entire blood guiltiness
but you still strive to give Me what you think is best.
And what’s worse is demanding others
to follow suit in your ill planned piety pursuit.

TBH judging others is a trap.

You see the dirt but I see the gold.
You see the sin but I see My child.
You demand repentance but all I require
is acceptance of My free gift.

TBH I didn’t come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it.

Freely you’ve received My righteousness,
been transferred from darkness to light,
adopted into My family with every gift of Heaven.
Nothing you did accomplished this.

TBH the heart I seek seeks Me.

Seek Me not for what I can do for you
as if I’m the big Santa in the sky
but seek Me for all I have won for you;
righteousness, peace and joy in Holy Spirit.

TBH all you need is love.

My love is patient, kind and doesn’t judge
it believes all things are possible
and views mankind as I do;
created in My image and much-loved.

TBH all you need is love.

I really enjoyed the format and personal feel of this piece. It was neat to see how you tied timeless truths into some of the common issues and modes of communication used today.

Wow! Such a powerful piece, and so compact. I felt convicted as you exposed us for our judgemental attitudes while we shamelessly promote ourselves on social media.

I love the line: "I hate the smell of how proud you are." There is such descriptive strength in that sentence.

This was a real punch to the gut--a cause to really reflect on my own behavior and motivations. What else can I say but "Great Job"?
