Topic: ARTIFICIAL (08/11/16)
Beautiful silk rose blossom,
Standing gracefully in a crystal vase
Amid an array of fresh garden roses,
Appears to be as real as the rest.
A closer examination reveals
That this bloom hasn’t any roots,
Has never been attached to earth
To draw sustenance for life.
Nor ever does this faux flower,
Lovely at a distance,
Have a wonderful aroma,
Scent of natural sweetness
With enticement to savor—
The identification of a true rose.

Just so, an unsaved person,
Standing as though upright in the church
Amid a group of genuine Christians,
Appears to be as real as the rest.
A closer examination reveals
That this pretender hasn’t any roots,
Has never been attached
To the King of heaven
To draw sustenance for life.
Nor ever does this faux follower,
Seemingly faithful at a distance,
Have a wonderful aroma,
Scent of the sweetness of God’s love,
Enticing others to Him—
The identification of a true Christian.

Wow. I have tears in my eyes. I got the analogy in the first stanza and it made my heart pound. The second stanza gave me goosebumps. This is the best piece of art. Just stunning!
