With motes of gold dust
And sent warm rays to caress me.
Puffy clouds, floating overhead,
Were silent observers
Of worship in my garden.
Choirs of birds in leafy branches
Sang paeans of praise in
A variety of lyrical notes,
Blending together in a beautiful hymn
To the One who is above all.
A little gray squirrel stood two legs tall
With acorn clutched in tiny paws,
As though giving thanks
To the Giver of all things.
Rosebushes, filled with fragrant blossoms,
Wafted sweet aromas to the Creator.
Soft winds whispered promises
From fluttering pages of underlined verses
In the Bible, sitting on my lap.
In reverent silence I sat in my Lord’s presence
To reflect upon His words:
The challenge to live as He commanded
And the reminders
Of hope and encouragement
That He will be with me always.
I praised Him for His greatness
And thanked Him for His many gifts
Before I petitioned His help
To live in obedience to His laws.
I presented pleas for my own concerns,
Along with the needs of a world in turmoil.
I asked for His guidance and His power
For the church to stay strong in faith,
And that the many who do not know the Savior
Will come to receive His peace.
To Him, I committed the care
Of each one, so very dear to me,
And I prayed that through my life would flow
The essence of the sweetness of His love.
I offered every prayer In Jesus’ name.
