Swipe grimy hands on fresh clean shirt.
They’ll sit in church as still as mice—
You’ll have no need to shush them twice.
An early bedtime they won't miss
Nor wipe away your goodnight kiss.
At lunch they’ll never hesitate
To eat the veggies on their plate.
They’ll say that eating cake’s a crime
And skip dessert most all the time.
They’ll never pull their sisters’ hair;
To tease them, they’ll not ever dare.
They’ll try to speak with softest tone
When you are on the telephone.
They’ll make their beds up every day
Before they even go to play.
They’ll always walk when they could run,
And they won’t think dumb jokes are fun.
They’ll love to take a bath or shower;
In fact, they’ll take one every hour.
They’ll pick their clothes up off the floor,
Without complaint, complete each chore.
These things will happen by and by;
That is for sure. . . and pigs might fly.
