Deeper still he went, finding the increasing blue hues did little to diminish the clarity of the scene. If anything, the loss of color sharpened his focus, forcing him to notice motion and contrast. Each moment was new and different, convincing him that if he spent forever looking, he would still never see it all.
A whispered thought reminded him that he was blessed to be a part of this, and that few would ever venture beyond their drab cocoons to uncover the secrets. Many told him it was dangerous, and let their fears keep them hidden behind their façade of safety.
God smiled, and shared wonders with him, revealing His hand even in the dangers. All creation served God, and worshipped God, and here, more than anywhere else, he felt immersed in the Holy Presence.
He breathed in slowly and purposefully, and then released the air to bubble to the surface, unconcerned that his supply was limited. The air never lasted as long as he wished, but it always lasted enough. It would be ungrateful to not thank God for the time he had to spend there, simply because he wanted to spend more time in that place.

His eyes opened and ended the daydream memories of the scuba trip. The images of the pristine reefs and the abundant sea life were replaced by the plain walls of a cubicle and the glow of a computer monitor.
With a sigh, he logged into the computer to begin the work day, wondering when he would again be blessed to return to the water.
