Of the time I made my choice
But history’s written by the victors
Stamping out the other’s voice
I walked with Jesus, witnessed wonders
Marvels man has never seen
Watched as crowds began to follow
Words of freedom from Him glean
My enemy was ever earthly
Roman ways that scarred my land
With Jesus King, Rome would surrender
This the triumph that I planned
I came to see that Jesus’ kingdom
Had no place for such as I
To be the last and serve the least
The self within refused to die
But if God was on Jesus’ side why
Did His words cause enmity?
This Prince of Peace caused tides of anger
Aggression and hostility
I let myself become persuaded
Jesus was a dangerous man
The priests and scribes, united loathed Him
To silence Him became their plan
Some say that evil lurked within me
The devil spoke and I obeyed
For just one bag of filthy money
I kissed His cheek and then betrayed
Did I conceive His crucifixion?
Think angel hosts would set him free?
With guilt and shame churned deep inside
I sought a rope and found a tree
If I could play the scene all over
Would I choose a different road?
Let faith persuade me – Christ Messiah
The love of God through him has flowed

What about "while" instead of "with" in the ninth stanza, third line?
Loved many of the lines; among my favorite -" My enemy was ever earthly." Something about that line that rings true far too often for me today.
