You make some great points in this piece. They made me stop and reflect on my own life, which is a great thing to do. Personally, I'm not a fan of talking directly to the reader by using the second-person voice (you), but some people really do enjoy it. I did notice your voice jumped around a bit (from you, to us, to I). I'd really like to read this from the first-person voice from beginning to end. In my opinion, I tend to connect with the author more that way. For example:
After a few years of life under my belt, I realize it doesn’t take much spiritual insight to see how God’s protective hand has worked to bring me to this stage of my life. It's a subtle difference, but feels less "preachy" to me. Beside that, I think you did an excellent job researching verses to prove your point. You definitely nailed the topic, made me think, and delivered a clear message. Nicely done.
