God's creatures proclaiming His infinite praise,
The notes of His nature that fall on our ear
And brighten and sooth the most dismal of days.
At daybreak His birds trill their symphony's song,
Again in the evening they bid us goodnight,
As choruses of crickets will sing the night long,
Then crowing of roosters with daybreak's new light.
Sometimes the wind whispers in branches of trees,
And sometimes it howls across mountains and caves.
His brooks gently babble, His springs softly sing,
His seas sing their songs in the lapping of waves.
Inspired by God our Creator we sing,
And instruments fashion, His praise to proclaim,
With trumpets, percussion, with woodwinds and strings,
With music and lyrics we honor His name.
Yet all of the music of mankind will be
Transformed when the new Earth and Heaven descend,
With harmonies yet unimagined will we
Creator and Savior give praise without end.
