The waterfall from the Heavens pulsates on the roof and skylight windows.
The wind and rain make for a cacophony putting Mozart to shame.
The cable goes out from the electrical storm of which I’m grateful.
Yes, peace and quiet!
Nearby my husband grouses stating he’s missing an important game.
I suggest picking up a book of choice until cable comes back on.
Our newest addition Mickey the Morkie is asleep on my lap oblivious to the weather.
Yes, peace and quiet!
The orange flames from our fireplace and nearby candles add to the tranquility.
I caress the leather bound Bible in my hand and open to Psalm 23, my favorite.
“The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want, He makes me to lie down in green pasture…”
Yes, peace and quiet!
My husband puts on soothing instrumental music from his cell phone.
I close my eyes and meditate on the peace from the lack of TV.
Oh…how joyous, no loud noise, no obnoxious news, nothing.
Yes, peace and quiet!
I’m able to really delve into the word and close off the world.
Rain washes away the ugly shrill sounds of the Universe.
In its place nature from the LORD filled with His grace.
Yes, peace and quiet!
I notice with delight that my hubby’s book of choice is his Bible.
I smile and say a sigh of thanks for the grateful interruption of service.
Who knew that a black TV screen would be a welcome sight?
Yes, peace and quiet!
The lights come back on as the TV springs back to life.
I’m filled with disappointment but happy for the little time of peace.
I look with surprise as my hubby takes the remote and shuts it down!
Yes, peace and quiet!
My husband smiles as he cuddles closer to me on the couch.
Ironically we are both on the same page in our Bibles.
We read in silence while Mickey the Morkie is still asleep.
Yes, peace and quiet!
The rain and wind continues in a symphonic pattern.
Somehow a storm generates a strong presence of the Lord.
So wonderful, so peaceful, so loving…

Psalm 68:8 (NKJV) The earth shook; The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
