“Can you give me a little more details, please?—Maybe just a fraction more to navigate my course of action?”
“No, I cannot. This is something you have to do for yourself Emily.”
“Why? Haven’t you ever heard the saying; ‘I get by with a little help from my friends?’ You are my friend are you not Tia?”
“Yes, I’m a friend indeed, that’s why I’m telling you that you will know when you get there.”
I kissed Tia goodbye then walked straight ahead. The road seemed long and ever winding. Walking along a brown dirt road I noticed various hues of color off in the distance. The colors were numerous, in fact, so much so, that they all seemed to blend into one.
However, one stood out. It sparkled and glittered and almost had a voice to go along with the view. Startled by this sensation, I stopped, albeit temporarily, then picked up pace heading toward the sparkling color. I was drawn to it and my senses awakened in an extraordinary way.
Whereas, the other road was beckoning me with whispers of seduction. I didn’t realize I spoke aloud, “Am I hallucinating? Is this a dream?”
My body began to shake and my breath was visible in the air as I stopped. I looked at two roads. One was narrow. The narrow road was painted with hues of a rainbow. The other was wide with a dark red fence painted on either side of it. The red fence seemed poised to engulf or swallow anything or anyone who walked upon it.
A visceral feeling of dread encompassed my spirit as I stood rooted in place looking at the wide road.
Then I heard two voices. “Come and walk with me, I have fences to protect you and will keep those who are not worthy out. This is the way to go, this is your path, come…”
Then, the second voice in a soft caressing and loving whisper, “Come and rest with Me, I will give you living water and eternal life that you are so deserving of. All are welcome; who believe in Me, the only fence keeping you out is unbelief…”
As I walked unto the narrow path filled with glorious colors of the rainbow, golden rays of sunshine blazed forth, but not before I saw the dark red fence collapse in a puff of smoke.
