Breath of their ancestry
Power, allure, strength, and grace
Run on, run on, wild horses
Residing on prairie land
Where brush blooms on loamy sand
And desert winds whistle tunes
Play on, play on, wild horses
Kaleidoscope of mixed hues
Against a backdrop of blues
Each different than the other
Stand tall, stand tall, wild horses
Their hooves thundering along
Like a drummer’s pounding song
Performing a cantata
Ride on, Ride on, wild horses
Down flaming canyons, they stride
Heads held high in noble pride
Coats glistening in the sun
Rise up, rise up, wild horses
A beauty that can’t be tamed
That bears privilege unashamed
A regal force of nature
Winged flight, winged flight, wild horses
Known as mustangs or stallions
They wear freedom’s medallions
Performing an equine dance
Prance high, prance high, wild horses
Ever vigilant and bold
Bearing a future untold
Died in battles, killed by man
Go forth, Go forth, wild horses
