My prayers last all day long,
Though other people may find me odd,
Only He can right the wrong.
I talk to my Savior without end,
In deep and soulful ways,
At times, He is my only friend,
He shines His light on my days.
I seek forgiveness and grace,
And mercy mending for others,
I feel Him close, face to face,
While praying for sisters and brothers.
I live for the love of my Savior,
And feed on His vine of life,
He keeps me in His favor,
And carries me through the strife.
For years I starved for affection,
Never once feeling satisfied,
Losing my path’s direction,
I didn’t need God, I lied.
All at once, He came to me,
And my hunger for Him was such,
My sins then ceased to be,
As I felt His tender touch.
These days, His word is all I need,
My hunger is everlasting,
Mere food is only a tasteless seed,
Often times, you’ll find me fasting.
For all of those who tend to think,
I’ve gone around the bend,
Pick up His cup of life and drink,
Your worldly hunger will end.
