Topic: Husband and Wife (08/08/14)
I wait in surrender and suppositions pose
I contemplate the joy of being His forever
His love overpowers yet strengthens my senses
His formidable presence fills me with promise

I am His and know I belong to Him alone
I am alive with an exhilaration I've never known
His essence exudes to overflowing magnificence
His invitation I've accepted with willingness

I hear His voice whispering my name lovingly
I am safe in His arms as He cradles me with peace
His words have I hidden in my heart forever more
His powerful ways aid my transition to overflow

I live to love Him and love to live because of Him
I am alive for His mighty sacrifice He so easily gave
His warmth caresses my soul as He holds me freely
His voice captivates and excites me abundantly

I have known Him from the beginning and He is mine
I have waited for Him as He waited for me to see
His blessings and grace saved a wretch like me
His arms did open to touch and hold me upright

I have waited for a love like His my whole life long
I have the optimum freedom and cause to celebrate
His love has set me free and I have seen the light
His light that shines the darkness comprehends not

He is my betrothed and I am His virgin bride
He is my well of living water and I thirst no more
He is my ample provider of sources that sustain
He is my perfection of all things that are and will be

I know tranquility supersedes any storm or trial
I know He is my refuge for which I have found
He is my rock and comforter in things big and small
He is my intoxication of bliss and limitless glee

His blood covered me with purity and cleansed me
He washed me white as the driven snow
He came looking for me because He loved me first
His hyssop did He dip for my soul to heal and thrive

He speaks the truth in love that which makes it grow
He is the head of my being as we join together
He supplies all I need and nourishes me and my heart
He edifies every part of my body which lends itself love

He is my love and I love Him as I've loved no other
He is my groom I wait and sit and ponder His love
He is my love my friend my counselor of wisdom
He is my forever more and eternal salvation...

The title was supposed to be GROOM & BRIDE. I had fixed it prior to submission, or so I thought!

Please as you comment, I'd appreciate you looking beyond the "typo" in the title.

How beautiful! I'm pretty sure your Heavenly Bridegroom is smiling; His heart warmed by your expression. Equally, I'd bet that He's so happy with your gift to Him here that He would squeeze you and say, "I'd bbe delighted to be your grom, as much as your groom." He loves you and this piece really shows that you return His love. Thanks for sharing it with us.

This touched my heart and soul on so many levels, left me with joyful tears in my eyes. Just an excellent piece of free verse poetry with perfect flow and rhythm.

I loved the line about Jesus coming to look for me, because He definitely did in my case.

I don't know how to express the joy and peace this brought to me just now. You are a wonderful writer, both prose and poetry.

This speaks to me.
