ADD TO MY FAVORITES
Allow the fruits of your Spirit to be fragrant as they peak
And may their sweetness linger long, drawing others unto You
As I live out each message asking, “What would Jesus do?”
Help me to be a servant who is clothed in humbleness
Showing others by example where to find their happiness
Never let my fingers point as if I’m someone’s judge
Help me live lovingly and never hold a grudge
May every kindness spread like ripples in a pool
Impart in me Your wisdom, energize me with Your fuel
Words penned from heaven will never lead astray
In troubles and in triumphs, may I not forget to praise
And if I am responsible for training righteous souls
It’s only by Your aiding which enables godly goals
This world is ever changing, Christians walk a lonely path
Enemies fight against us--they persecute with wrath
May Your truths be embedded in my mind and in my heart
To each inquisition may studied scripture give jumpstarts
Help me gently lead wounded ones with David’s psalms
May their fears melt away like the darkness after dawn
Let Your life be my message as I strive to do Your will
I trust You will guide me through the times I take a spill
Help me practice what is good, to do what’s truly right
And in my weakest moments fill me with a soldier’s might
Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT) But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
