Prayed for a Date
Hoped for a mate
Longed for romance and wooing
The site she found
Was clean and sound
She knew just what was doing
The filter used
Was all good news
She met prospective right guys
Each man seemed nice
Well worth the price
But one seemed like the big prize
Without dispute
His face was cute
His heart was overflowing
She saw in him
This man named Tim
A love for God, still growing
And when they met
She did not fret
That he was not the real thing
He fell, first sight
This shining knight
His courting made her heart sing
He wrote sweet lines
Filled with designs
Proposals meant to give chase
The e-mails flew
With pitching woo
Romance filled all of deep space
He asked, “Will you?”
They said, “I do”
And settled down to living
Those ties that bind
True Valentines
Made each day like Thanksgiving
Before two years
Hope turned to tears
Her prince became quite sickly
It made no sense
This fog too dense
He slipped into so quickly
Her strength and love
Came from above
She never stopped believing
But God knows more
Of what’s in store
He’s there in all our grieving
Through mystery veil
She thought e-mail
Could never calm her sadness
One last embrace
She kissed his face
The one she loved with gladness
And thanked him for
Giving her more
Connections not held cheaply
Eight months have gone
She’s moving on
He’s walking streets of gold
That makes her smile
A little while
And keeps her witness bold
She went on line
And found the sign
Pointing to the right guy
Their marriage came
A bright brief flame
We do not need to know why
All he did write
Gives her delight
Her mate, her friend, her suitor
When she’s adrift
It’s like God’s gift
Notes left to her…and stored on Tim’s computer
_______
For my dear friend, who knows for sure, even with the grim realities on earth, that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Her faith was tested and she has stood firm and sure. Even swathed in gut-wrenching pain, she attested to the Lord’s Grace and Love. She still thanks Him for the precious time she shared with her Prince Charming. It all began with an e-mail.

Good job with the topic!
Although it kept that concise note it was laden with emotion. Most enjoyable.
