This is a touching story of how depression can really grab hold of one. Thank God that He knows enough to send a friend at just the right time. Very moving and well done.

Your descriptions of depression paint such a lonely picture of this MC. So happy that Laura came along to rescue her. Perhaps God used her as His angel that day
You painted the picture of chronic depression very well. Good choice of words and images.

I could see, smell, taste, touch your mc's depression. You did an excellent job of showing how dark the world truly was for her. Well done.
I love the idea of "the fragrance of life" and its special meaning in your story.

The darkness of the piece is smothering and effective. I love the bright ray of a friend who won't give up. Good writing.
