It sang in my heart
I placed it out
To sing for others
I wrote a story
To talk to others
To share my mind
My heart, my soul, my spirit
Of what I know, believe
Understand and treasure
To the last page
I wrote a novel
And peopled it
And created conflict
And emotion, passion
And pain
Scene upon scene
Sequence upon sequence
To create a universe
Not to play God
But to understand this NOW
I wrote a movie
To see on the screen
A dream of mine
To breathe into it
A ghostly life
A reality to be seen
As we believe
What our eyes can see
More than words
I wrote in
My book of life
The story of me
My hours, days,
Weeks, months,
Years and decades
To share with angels
In my sleep
And to awake refreshed
In the light of a new
Morning and day
I wrote a will
The other day
With less time
In front
Than behind
Me
And when I enter
The door
I will write
No more
But go happy at
The words
I left behind
