Topic: Begin - Being - Binge (08/21/25)
In our small village, hardworking men worked all week.
With their calloused hands, they repaired cars, farmed fields, harvested crops, chopped sugar cane, and then, it was Friday!!
“Time for fun, guys!” they all yelled.
Taking their weekly pay, they hurried off to the local bar.
“Fill’em up, Jack!!” screamed the men to the bartender.
“Looks like we’re having a drinking binge, boys!” said Jack with a grin.
Out came the whiskey bottles and the bear cans, and it never stopped until the sun had gone down, fights had broken out, and wives and daughters had come to collect their errant binge drinking men.
Such binges came at a cost, of course.
If the men and women didn’t drink heavily, they could use their paychecks for other things, like paying bills at home, saving some of it for emergencies, or maybe just shopping for things their children liked.


In living rooms all over the village, women and homemakers were binge- watching daily soap operas and western movies. Detective stories challenged the crime solvers and took up hours of the day. Even the children had their own shows. Colourful cartoons filled the screen and incredible artists had cleverly designed things like the eye-catching Paw Patrol. Let’s not forget the sports game watchers and the game players. We’ve all heard of many sons who spend hours playing games in their rooms at every opportunity..They too, are binge-players.


Then there are the Sunday bingers,
Faithful Jesus-loving village dwellers got up early, dressed in their best, sat in their favorite seats as they loved on each other, worshipped God in song, and listened to Pastors vibrant sermon. Happily, in heaven, we will all be binge-worshipping. Our binge will never cease in heaven. We will live with God forever, and will worship Him. There will be no more death, sickness, or sorrow. We will be God-bingers forever. Binges will last forever. We will be binge-God lovers and heaven dwellers. Evil binges will cease; no more guns, alcohol, or drug overdoses, no more hate, and no more racial hatred..
Binges, or periods of excessive indulgence, will be forever rather than temporary or flesh-driven, and we will remain God lovers forever.

You do well in contrasting how the world binges with the Christian's form. It's quite a contrast, isn't it. I never thought of it in the way you described well. A big thumbs up.

I enjoyed this interesting take on the topic. You pulled me in right away. Instead of having all the people yell the same phrases at once, have just one or two people speak at a time. It's unlikely they'd all shout the same words. I liked the three different descriptions of how one might binge, but you could use a smoother transition between them. Your ending was great. It really touched my heart and spoke to me in a powerful way.
