“So how do you know it’s precious? I only heard of them from my classmates. I've heard of diamonds and pearls, but a crystal!?” said Jude scornfully.
Simone continued, “Look please, in Revelation, The New Jerusalem, God’s heavenly city, shone with the glory of God and its brilliance was like a precious jewel, clear as crystal. {Revelation 21: 10-11}. So, if John mentioned it, it’s got value, don’t you think? But in contrast, look at Job’s words, as he contemplates the value of wisdom, he wisely said to his three friends that the value of wisdom says that “Neither gold nor crystal can compare to it” {Job 28: 12-17 NIV}.
Jude responded, “My classmates were chatting about new age stuff and they said that mystic energies can be directed by sacred stones like crystals.”
“In the Bible, the term crystal is used in positive ways,” said Simone.
“However’ she added, ‘Paul relates an event when those who practiced sorcery, like the ones who your classmates talk about, repented when they heard the truth from him. They destroyed their tools of sorcery publicly and repented’. {Acts 19:19}.
If the phrase ‘as clear as crystal’ is used in the Bible, it indicates transparency, translucence, and purity. The Gospel of Christ and His teachings and his actions are crystal clear. God our Father and Creator is pure and his character and his workings in mankind are too. He is all about love. That love gave His Only Son to suffer and die for mankind; to restore The Sonship of God through The Blood of Christ. Jesus lived a pure life on earth. He was a public translucent Shepherd ‘who went about doing good, healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him’ {Acts 10:38}.
Transparent relates to his open honesty about who He was, His feelings about being crucified, and His purpose on earth.
Translucent meaning that He was free from disguise or falseness!
Purity relates to Him being sinless, living a sinless life as a human being.
