Mayor of Hiroshima,
The microcosm of past human evils,
Of Hitler, the malignant dictator,
Who, with unspeakable impunity,
Ruthlessly annihilated six million Jews,
Without trial or mercy,
May the Lord Judge you.
To the people of Hiroshima,
I extend my heartfelt sympathies.
With sublime benignity, treat them,
So that, of the past, they may not remember,
Lest their hearts may bleed again,
Leaving them in perpetual misery,
Without peace or consolation.
To humanity, let Hiroshima,
Radiate love, instead of insidious rancour;
Let Hitler’s stigma be forgotten,
And be buried in irretrievable cinders,
And thrown far, into Pacific Ocean,
To eternally pacify mankind.
Let the dear souls,
To those whom sin and hatred killed,
Proffer the seeds of eternal peace,
And cause economic development of Hiroshima.
Let their precious blood,
Like that of Jesus, shed at Golgotha,
Bring unity to all mankind on entire earth.
Oh! Wretched Hiroshima!
Whom mankind empathises,
As the modern torch of peace,
The luminary of peace,
Whose luminosity will know no end,
Hearken to the humble plea of a believer,
Who wishes you abundantly well,
In thy search efforts for peace.
So long, the Mayor of Hiroshima.
