Topic: HEIR/HEIRESS (04/07/22)
In Moses’ day, it took a tragedy to change the Jewish law which stated only male heirs inheriting their father's estate.

A man named Zelophehad dies and leaves his estate to his daughters because he has no sons. In defiance, his daughters had to get brave and go against the norm of the day. They went to see Moses and made a petition to the leadership of Israel.

So Moses brought their case before the LORD, and the Lord said to him, “What Zelophehad’s daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance among their father’s relatives and give their father’s inheritance to them."
"If a man dies and leaves no son, give his inheritance to his daughter.... the Lord commanded Moses.’ ” {Numbers 27:5-11}.

Sadly, on this issue of inheritance; someone has to die. The role of women and men has always been one of the inferior and superior genders. Even in fairy tales, when the princess was historically portrayed as 'a damsel in distress, she waited to be rescued by her handsome prince.'
However, over time things have changed. The male-only heir status is no longer true either in royal families or in daily life. Women inherit estates and do a great job at managing them. Globally we see many portrayals of this fact, and in the kingdom of God, who is the God of justice; inheritors are male and female.

Through Christ's death, male and female believers are now heirs and heiresses of His Kingdom. 'For this reason, Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance.' {Hebrews 9:15}.
Jesus died and was resurrected; thus He became The Door and opened the door to those who would accept him to inherit. Through this simple act of faith, believers or called ones become heirs and heiresses of eternal life with Him in His Kingdom.
Those who reject Jesus will also inherit a kingdom, but it is the kingdom of darkness and that too is eternal.

Traditionally the oldest male child was the heir of a family's riches; that meant that the best and biggest portion was his. In the Kingdom of God, there is neither male nor female, all are heirs and heiress, treated equally according to His Will and His Word.
Our Almighty God-ordained inheritance means that we who become one in Christ Jesus through faith, have the honour of becoming Abraham's seed. 'For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.{Galatians 3:27-29}.

This is a good analysis of the scripture. However, you have repeated the topic [Heir/Heiress] nine [9] times which FW.com guidelines advise against unless they have changed recently? Please, check this out.

This is definitely on topic. I really enjoyed reading it. I liked that you took a slightly different take on it. I didn't remember that story in the Bible and enjoyed that you brought it up. It's a relevant topic, especially in today's world. Although I often say some of the best on-topic stories never use the topic word, sometimes they are needed. I don't think it's necessarily wrong to use the word too often, but sometimes using a synonym (successor, descendant, scion) can break it up some. Another thing that can help sometimes too is tightening it up so you don't repeat yourself. Overall, though, I thought you did a fine job and produced an enjoyable read. You have a great message, you used Bible verses to make your point, and you held my interest from the beginning to the end.
