And you cannot speak,
But the pain is great
And your tears begin to leak,
Write it down.
When you have a success,
God answered your prayer,
But you're afraid you'll forget
That in troubles He is there,
Write it down.
Oh I'm sure that I'll remember
You confidently say,
But the tribulations come
And the memory doesn't stay,
Write it down.
You didn't think you could do it!
But you tried any way,
You'll want to remember
The fear you did slay,
Write it down.
It doesn't have to be
For other people's eyes,
Lay open your soul
Admit the self-lies,
Write it down
Your daughter admits to you,
"Mom, you were right,
Your example still leads me,
You're my guiding light."
Write it down.
You walked out in faith
You conquered a fear
You touched people's lives
You brought Jesus near
Write it down
Our victories and struggles
Can form jewels in our crown
But our memories are so fragile
So be sure to write it down
