Nor wine to my lips.
Nothing unclean!
Decreed by God.
I was special!
I was strong and unstoppable!!
I killed lions and troops of men! A Nazarene!
A judge in Israel.
The Philistines hated me.
I had a great weakness and I loved an evil woman.
She beguiled me with lies.
See, now I am chained to a grinder. An object of fun.
Imprisoned, I am as weak as a kitten, but I prayed to my God.
So, all is not lost.
Thank God, my hair grew again.
My name is Samson.

One of twelve sons; but I was special to Papa.
I had a dream of greatness;
Made my brothers hate me.
Soon, jealousy ruled in our house
They sold me into slavery to Kingsman Potiphar.
Papa; He thinks I am dead!
Potiphar’s lust filled wife wants me.
I run from her!
She accused me of rape!
So, now imprisoned for years.
God lets me interpret dreams.
I am promoted and blessed with favor.
King Pharaoh needs my help.
Soon, thanks to God, I am made Viceroy.
I have power in the kingdom which I use for good.
My name is Joseph.

Young, strong and unbeatable.
Assigned to guard sheep.
I killed a lion and bear to protect my flock.
I dared to stand up to an arrogant Philistine giant,
My weapon a sling and small stones.
Drawing King Saul’s attention and jealousy.
Now hated and hunted,
I did not dare kill my pursuer...
Unbeatable in wars.
I was king for forty years!
I plotted the death of Uriah.
Married many wives and had many sons.
'A man after my own heart’ God said of me.
I am a poet of renown; wrote many psalms that many read.
I showed mercy to rebellious son Absalom.
Left the kingdom to Solomon.

Today, we thank God for these strong men.
They faltered.
They sinned yet prevailed and made their mark.
Know that only God is perfect.
We never worship weak man;
Samson, Joseph and David had flaws.
Stay faithful to Yahweh God.
We thank Him as we seek to know His Word and keep our word.
He will use us as we submit to Him.
