The farmer scanned the bright blue sky
“Lord please send rain my land's so dry.
The stock's so thin and the crop's so small
I know You'll make rain drops fall.”
The wife look out at the rainy day.
“Lord please blow those clouds away.
I need to get my washing dry
I know You can clear the sky.”
The sailor in the doldrums prayed
As still, limp sails he surveyed.
Lord please send a gentle breeze
I know You can. I'm on my knees.
The fireman cried full of fear.
As roaring flames were drawing near,
“Lord demand 'Wind be still!'
I know You can, I know You will.”
The skiers waiting in a row
Chorused “Lord we need some snow
'Cos for a medal there's a fight,
And You can do it overnight.”
The tourists down in Florida
Observed their white peninsular
“Lord we've spend a lot of money.
You can turn the weather sunny.”
Everyday the prayers arise
To You Lord, about the skies,
Requesting changes to the weather,
But it's according to Your pleasure.
You know beginning from the end.
You know what and where to send
Wind, sun, snow or rain,
Drought, fire or hurricane.
Awesome God You're in command
Of the universe, sea and land.
We don't know your higher ways,
But may we always give You praise.
