Where I never want to be
In the land of Thinks Too Much
That clouds what I must see.
Much to ponder through today
I try again to be
Where the path of Get Along
Will lead to Just Be Free
One sign beckons ‘Tis This Way
One reads Follow Me.
My hearts longs to satisfy
Each lane marked Hear My Plea
Signs that try to lure my steps
With words that can’t agree
From one straight path to lead my life
To the land marked Destiny
The signs along each fateful way
Plea weary mind agree
From empty promises that mislead
God’s voice bids me flee.
Through the mist I see a sign
That hangs upon a Tree
Words that fade into my view
“I Gave My Life for Thee.”
I leave you now. I must depart
From the land of What May Be
Where certain death awaits those fooled
Now bound eternally.
I fix my tear-filled eyes upon
Words written just for me
In drops of red that I see now
In the Land of I Am Free.
