I love the color, green, tis true,
Found everywhere I look.
In a shady tree, or a rougher sea,
Beside a babbling brook.
The emerald stone is so beautiful,
Born in May, I was.
Hillside grass, a shepherd’s pass,
Makes me smile, just because.
I met a boy back in my youth,
From Ireland, his name was Paddy.
Heartfelt sighs, over his green eyes,
He was a handsome laddie.
When I’m sick, my pallor is green,
And envy shares this hue.
But my favorite green is that of Spring,
With the birds and flowers too.
We can’t forget the color of money,
At least here, in the USA.
But if we love it, and start to covet,
Green-eyed monsters come out to play.
Above all, this color called green,
Is a favorite used by God.
The creation story, depicts God’s glory,
In the trees, in the plants, and sod.
When I think about the sights in Heaven,
The Tree of Life will be.
I imagine a green, like we’ve never seen!
As with all the new colors we’ll see.
Yes, green in all its’ various shades,
Life’s pallet is complete.
One day we’ll stand, and see the Master’s hand
Paint the sky, beneath our feet.
