‘Cheers’ To Blessings

The time is right for counting our blessings,
So let's have a bit of fun...
I woke from sleep, and I am still breathing!
By golly! That's two, not one!

To my delight, the next blessings are found,
As my feet touch down on the floor.
The carpet is soft and my blanket is warm.
Counting three, in a wink, no, four!

The sunshine is smiling on my face today,
And my sweetheart stole a kiss from me!
There's five, and six...Oh, and now, lucky seven!
Homemade biscuits and freshly brewed tea!

The little blue bird flying past my window,
Can surely be counted as eight.
But the worm in his mouth, soon to be morning brunch,
Might disagree with the 'blessing' debate!

Can you believe we've reached number nine?
And so easily, with no need to rush!
Clean water, soap, a fresh towel to dry,
And toilet paper...Number ten, then 'Flush'!

As you can see, the day has barely begun,
We delight in these moments somehow.
For precious is time, which will one day run out,
So let's cherish the blessing of 'now'.
