I believe that Solomon was the wisest person in the Bible, and that there was none that could compare to his reasoning abilities. Often times, when I am going through my “Winter Seasons” in life, I reflect back on his wisdom. I mean those times when things don’t go the way you expect them to go. When loves that start out fresh and exciting, end in sorrow and despair. When the aspirations, hopes and dreams, seem to wither away, like the dying leaves on the trees. I can see why so many people will get depressed in the winter months. It appears that everything in the environment is so very cold and hard.
However, reflecting on Solomon’s wisdom, I have come to realize that it is the winter seasons in our lives, that makes us enjoy and appreciate the spring and emerging life that follows. Through all of my problems and negative circumstances, comes a sense of a new beginning of power and fulfillment.
So, I will close on something that I base my life on not matter what is happening around me. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” Ecclesiastes 12:13(KJV)
