Is a very special gift.
The gift longs to emerge and grow,
From the dark and furtive soil of our spiritual nature.
I feel the ugly words of prejudice and hatred,
That’s impeding my gift to spawn and mature.
Damaging and destructive as they my be,
They are always lurking and waiting to strangle life itself.
At first, my desire is to hoard and keep,
Those things that are most valuable and precious.
But, it the freedom of Love and Charity,
That is the most desirable.
So, when my Savior and Lord,
Appears in my life.
I will freely give and admonished him,
With my most valuable keepsake.
And, I will rejoice forever more.
For my soul is now set free.
And, the wonderful fragrance that surrounds me,
Will be eternal.
