Topic: Liberation (05/02/24)
"You tell me I must go down to Jordon River and dip seven times in that dirty, muddy water? Oh no! Naaman wailed.

"Yes, sir, if you want to be free from your leprosy," responded the messenger. "That's the command from the Lord given to the prophet."

"Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master because by him, the LORD had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper." 2 Kings 5:1 NKJV.

The story begins with a young girl held captive and given to Naaman's wife as a maid. One day, while doing domestic chores, she noticed something shocking about her master. He was a leper. She thought, "how could this be?" Realizing they would have banished him from the village among the people in her country.

Her heart ached for Naaman, and she remembered the prophet in her country who could heal his leprosy. Filled with deep compassion, she sought to speak with his wife about the prophet Elisha, her hope shining through her actions.

After she had spoken to the wife, Naaman agreed to see the prophet. But when the prophet didn't do what he expected him to do, he was angry. More so, when a messenger came out and gave him instructions to dip seven times in the Jordan River, he was grieved and went away in anger.

Naaman pride stood out. But for him to be free from leprosy, he had to lose his pride. That was the prize he had to pay for his liberation.
However, over time, Naaman gave up his pride and did as the prophet said, and he was delivered from his infirmity.

Once burdened by his affliction and pride, Naaman was now liberated. He could move freely among his people and do what he wanted. His transformation was profound and undeniable.

Christ came to set us free, and who the Son set free is free indeed.

One cannot help but admire the story of Naaman, because "by him, the LORD gave victory to Syria." Which proves God had a plan for that one man's life.

I, too, enjoy the way you brought out freeing himself from his own pride. Good job!
