This period of six months alone was monumental. First, I realized that I was denying myself the pleasure of laughter with just a simple chuckle. When I laughed as I read, I enjoyed the content more. For the first time, I listened to my laughter. It evoked some amount of joy and freedom. As a result, I laughed and felt a new awakening, so I read more.
My husband’s visit to our son in Canada allowed me to focus on what I needed to grow. I tried new receipts, although I disdained cooking. I learned to do more cooking and saw this activity as serving oneself as well as others and so I give thanks to God for this type of enabling.
A fruit basket gift from my husband sparked the thought of a photoshoot for my new thrust in social media.
As a photographer, I was always behind the lens but this time I was in the spotlight. I prepared the garments, and locations, and arranged the props. I got a professional photographer and a make-up artist who enhanced my general appearance. This was the second time I did this. The first time was for my wedding and now thirty-five years later, a photoshoot!
As I sat in front of the camera, I saw myself as special even as a celebrity. As a child of the King of kings, I hone this position, as a redeemed child of God. This session allowed me to model my wall robe. Over a hundred photographs were taken within and outside the house. Would you believe that this activity took the entire day?
I was satisfied. Within days the photographs were ready, and they were sensational.
My husband was pleased with my new endeavors.
As the months passed, new inspirations came from being at home in my own space with myself. I embraced my blessings of children, who are contributing adults and I used the time to praise God for his goodness to me.
As I contemplated on this I yearned for my husband’s presence, to touch his large hands, listen to his laughter, and to be embraced and held.
From these experiences, I have come to realize that Jesus wants us to be alone to contemplate and grow, mentally, physically and spiritually. No wonder he came away from the crowd during his time here on earth.
A true story.
