So strange to look back
And not be who I was.
So strange to be myself
And like it.
It was so dark
And full of hatred.
It was so very dark
And cold.
I sank to hell
And did not care.
I sank
And no-one could find me.
Life went on
And I could not see.
Life went on
And I belittled me.
You are ugly
And will amount to nothing.
You are ugly
And I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you.
Help me Jesus!
I need You Lord.
Help! Help Jesus!
I don’t want to hate me anymore.
Now I’m tired
And I’m alone.
I can’t be bothered
This is my home.
But I will be with you
Wherever you go.
I have been with you,
Even in hell, your home.
I knew you and I formed you.
I fashioned and I made you.
I thought of you
And love you.
Look at me
And see yourself.
Think of me
And be at rest my child.
Beautiful you are to me.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
Father, how precious
Are your thoughts to me.
The darkness of my mind
No longer binds me.
So strange
Yet wonderful to actually like me.
So strange
Yet powerful to be free.
