Who needs to go outside to test the season,
Or is there a point to be made with a reason,
Made to feel like not going is guilty of treason,
Besides all the trash in the air causes major sneezing.
There are the four seasons that we must endure,
No getting away from them is made quite sure,
And lasting through them doesn’t make us pure,
One leading to the next brings no needed cure.
Summer with it’s heat and drought causing blistering burns,
Sometimes so hot that it makes your stomach turn,
What is the point and what should we learn,
But don’t panic because the next might be what we yearn.
Fall comes to tease with all the colorful leaves,
Can it be time to roll down our sleeves,
With some moister in the air giving much needed relief,
Getting closer and closer for those that believe.
Winter is harsh and everything dies,
The bitter cold sets in and you can hear the cries,
Homeless or small children’s tear filled eyes,
Deep down inside comes the impatient sigh’s.
Spring is finally here and we all know what that means,
Life is beginning anew from tree top to the deepest streams,
All the nice weather bringing outdoor sports screams,
Still deep inside there is emptiness not matching our dreams.
Maybe the seasons can’t quench the true agony that is at hand,
Searching for more worth is what we want to understand,
Fearful of our mistakes and scarred of the reprimand,
Watch for the signs and be taken from this land.
