It consumes people, and leaves them totally maimed.
Bit by bit, it tears them apart.
Only ashes remain in their unforgiving hearts.
Blinded by this many people can be,
For in the midst of this storm, it’s difficult to see.
They can’t see this enemy in their hearts and minds.
Anger goes to work while they remain blind.
He hits them with thunderous blows in their lives.
He rains down sorrow, confusion, and strife.
People lash out to protect their hearts.
This fans the embers, and another fire starts.
Anger laughs aloud at what it sees.
The people cry out and beg for release.
Flames begin raging and engulf their souls.
Who can save them from this terrible foe?
Sickness rides in beneath anger’s wings.
Another demon summoned to destroy the redeemed.
“God, please help,” People cry in despair.
Suddenly, the embers don’t have much air.
“No!” Anger shouts in a desperate plea.
“I need them to fan their flames to me.”
“Father, forgive me,” the People cry.
Anger hisses as its body writhes.
The answer to all of this is easy to see.
Look to Jesus, you are His redeemed.
He felt everything you and I have felt.
Even more so than this, He took our sins on Himself.
The greatest words spoken sprang forth from this man.
He asked forgiveness for all, from the great I AM.
The answer as I said is simple to see.
The same is required of you and of me.
Forgive.
