Imagine my pleasant surprise to find that, just like Jesus, Faith writers is still right here!
I've lost a lot since 2009.
My home to Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
My wife who went to Heaven in 2019.
My vehicle and my job in 2025.
I'm retired now.
But you know what I never lost? The love that Jesus has for me and the help of the Holy Spirit.
Just like the writers of Hebrews said in the latter part of Hebrews 13:5; "I will never leave you,nor forsake you."
What an awesome promise of God!
Just to know that even if we get busy in life and move God to a lower priority in our lives, He never does that to us.
Our topic this week is abiding in Him which comes from John 15::
John 15:5 NKJV
[5] “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Have you noticed how frustrating it can get when you're trying to do something without God's guidance and help?
No matter how hard we try, things just don't work out as smoothly when we try to do something by ourselves.Abd that includes our daily lives.
When we are walking ahead of God instead of with God,you get tired, angry,stressed and grouchy much faster.Abd you give up easier.
But if we stay in fellowship with God, inviting His help with our day to day routine, life gets much easier.
I'm not saying you'll never have problems or be stressed.After all, Jesus said in John 16:33 :
John 16:33 NKJV
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Hallelujah!
I'm closing, Jesus gave us another promise in Matthew 11:28 :
Matthew 11:28 NKJV
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
How encouraging is that?
Life is hard.
Jesus makes it easier to walk through.
We all.know the story of The Prodigal Son so I won't go into it here.If you want to read it, it's in Like chapter 15.
If life has gotten hard and it's made you drift apart from God, come back home!Jesus is waiting for you. He's been watching over you, waiting for you to come back into close fellowship with Him.
Enjoy His promise which says (I'm paraphrasing) "Abide in (walk with) Me and I'll abide (again, walk with) you."
What better Friend can you have?
