I wiped away another tear, even while one escaped and splashed onto the desk in front of me. One could literally get swallowed up in the horrendous headlines of the day!
I walked over to my open window, allowing the sun to warm my face, and glanced upward. Only a few clouds lazily floating along against a beautiful backdrop of blue, as if all was well in the world. It really was a gorgeous day. Our Creator had provided us with many stunning days this summer, and this was another one of them!
Why then did so many things seem so out of control? It felt like the world was cloaked in darkness and it just could not be shaken off. Yet none of this comes as a surprise to God. I know He has all agendas in His control; however, I also know He’s accustomed to questions, so I voiced a few in His direction.
Why were relationships falling apart all around me? Why is there so much evil division in the world, ranging from grand to the smallest of topics and categories? Why all the pain to endure? Why all the hatred and injustice?
No sooner had my questions been uttered, than I felt that familiar Peace wash over me. With much gratitude, I knew I could not remain in this overwhelmed condition with extreme emotions running on high, and consider myself to be abiding in His love, at the same time. Certainly, a drastic collision of sorts.
Bringing myself back to the moment, I thanked the Holy Spirit for lavishly pouring His comfort, peace, and abiding love into and over me, with a gladness of heart that only He can provide. It’s love like no other. Our eternal Heavenly Father sent Jesus to the Cross to die in our place. How great and amazing and secure is that love for us!
The worries and concerns of this world suddenly shrink drastically when one gains clarity again, after our humanity gets clouded now and again. Our Creator of the entire universe, and Loving Father to each one of us, has this whole world in His huge and very capable all-knowing Hands!
My refreshed soul felt ready to face life head-on once again. Elated over the new day, a fresh resolve to stay in the Light poured over and through me. I would never want to be in any other place, except basking and abiding in His love always. Unspeakable Divine Joy!
