LOST AND FOUND
Lock? Who—in the world—would ever be thinking about lock? Locks… maybe? But why would I even possibly ever think about locks?
If I were forced to think about locks, I suppose that I could say that we all use locks every day. They are absolutely necessary for safety and security. What else could possibly be said about them? I’ll be honest… I never really give much thought to the subject of locks. Why should I?
Until I lose my keys, that is. I suppose then I would have to think about locks.
When I leave my house in the morning, it would never even cross my mind not to lock the doors. Safety is absolutely essential—so important that if I don’t have it, I could lose everything I worked so hard for overnight. A thief could break in and steal.
And I guess if you don’t have personal safety, it may (or may not) even matter what you have or don’t have… or whether or not you get to keep it at all.
I would definitely think a lot more about locks if I were chained up with locks. If there was suddenly no way to get free, locks (and freedom) would suddenly become my only focus. But I am sure that would never happen…
If people ever do think about it, I am sure that everyone would recognize their need for locks, keys, safety, and security.
But in the spiritual world, suddenly none of that seems to make sense anymore. “What do you mean that I am ‘chained up’? Or that I need safety—and locks or keys?”
Enter the Locksmith. With the Locksmith, rest assured that there is always a good purpose. But we have to recognize our need for Him.
Can’t open the door? New key.
The lock is broken. New lock + new key = safety.
For every lock, the Locksmith IS the key.
Are you locked up in chains and bound? He could just use His tools to break those chains altogether.
Lock: I was lost in sin, with no hope…
Key: I called on the Locksmith, and I accepted His death on the cross as the One and Only key.
Lock: I am lonely.
Key: He places the solitary in families.
Lock: I am confused.
Key: Peace that passes understanding.
