God, who knows everything from the beginning to the end, has a master plan for our lives. We see the plan of God unfolded in Joseph's life.

Joseph's father, Jacob, loved him and gave him a special coat to symbolize his love for him, and his older brothers were jealous.

Joseph was spiritual, and God spoke to him in a dream that his brothers would bow to him. Joseph told the dream to his father and his brothers. His father observed him, but his brothers hated him and called him a dreamer, and from then on, they sought to kill him because they knew he was different and feared that the dream would come to pass.

Then the opportunity came for them to kill him.

Jacob had sent Joseph to see how they were doing, pasturing his flock. When they saw him coming, they said to one another, "Joseph, the dreamer, is coming, let us plot now to kill him." But Reuben disagreed, and God allowed them to sell him to an enslaved trader. And Joseph was brought to Egypt, and an Egyptian name Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh bought him.

On the other hand, God was working out his purpose to bring Joseph's dream to pass. The journey was challenging, but God was with him. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and all he did prosper. Then one day, Pharaoh had a dream that troubled him, and none of his delegates could interpret it. And Pharaoh was sad and bitter, and everyone under his dominion feared for their lives.

Then the chief butler remembered Joseph had interpreted his dream, so he told Pharaoh about him, and immediately Pharaoh sent for Joseph.
Joseph told Pharaoh the dream and the interpretation of it, which pleased Pharaoh. So, Pharaoh promoted Joseph and put him in a position of authority and power. The dream was that a famine was coming and to store food for seven years. Immediately Joseph got a plan from God and started to work on that plan to fulfill Pharaoh’s vision.

And there came a famine in every land, and the people came to Egypt to buy corn, and Jacob told his sons to go down to Egypt to buy corn so they could live. Pharaoh told the people to go to Joseph, and they must do whatever Joseph told them to do.

Joseph was so powerful in the land of Egypt that before Joseph came out, a trumpet sounded, and the people screamed and bowed their knees. Regardless of what they were doing, they stopped and bent their knees. The time came when Joseph’s brothers came to him, and Joseph recognized them, but they did not recognize him.

Finally, the hour came for Joseph to disclose his identity. Joseph cried out for his security officers to go out. And everyone left. And his brothers stood before him, and he wept aloud, and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard him.

And Joseph said unto his brothers, "I am Joseph that you sold to the slave trader."

His presence troubled them, and they were so afraid.
Joseph said to them, "Come close to me, don’t be grieve; for God send me before you to preserve life."

I love Joseph's story. There's so much hope in it for the confused. Don't be afraid to let our Creator co-create with you and give the story a freshness. You can retell it from a different perspective. A fictional or Biblical character can tell it There are many ways to make it stand out from the bible story. Thanks for sharing

This is a nice simple retelling. I've read multiple stories just like this, but it doesn't really pop. I could easily recognize the story and you pulled me in with your writing capabilities. You do mention both topic words, but neither one seems central to the story. One way to make a retelling is to paint a picture for the reader. Use body language, thought, and dialog to show the reader, not just tell it. Perhaps tell the story from a unique POV like the jailer or one of the lesser known brothers. You have a nice writing style and I can feel your love and passion throgho9t the story. Good job.
