This story has SOOOO much potential. The surprise ending is priceless.

To make your writing pop, learn to show emotion rather than explain it. This grabs the reader's attention, via emotion, and holds it to the end.

Your creativity is great. I enjoyed the laugh at the end.
Good bones of a great story. Don't be afraid to edit, edit, edit. Read it aloud (pun intended) Read one line at a time covering the rest (this helps me to see the small mistakes that my mind with correct automatically when I read) Thanks for sharing

Great story! I, too, would encourage you to have someone read over your writing and help you correct punctuation and a couple other little things.
Oh I love this. You included both words and they were both the central theme to the story. With some tweaking you've an awesome middle grade short story. If you ever want to try to publish it, get a professional editor and I'd be happy to give you a great discount. Children's stories are my favorite genre so this is the highest compliment I could give someone. It's simply brilliant and once more I find myself saying an all-time favorite!
