Billy looked, and there was an old sow bear and two cubs in his tent. He looked around and thought of getting rid of the bear. His rifle and hand ax were there, but Billy didn't want to leave any orphans in the woods. And he thought she might scratch him. You don't fool around with their cubs; they protect their young ones.

When the old bear saw Billy, she ran off and cooed to her cubs. One of them followed her, and the other stayed. Billy stood still and watched the scene, bewildered.

They had gotten in and jumped up and down the stove pipe where he had his little sheep herder's stove and mashed it into pieces.
Billy slowly moved to the other side and thought, "Why don't that little fellow move?" The mother kept cooing. But Billy couldn't see what the cub was doing because he was backing him.
"What is he so interested in?" Billy murmured. So, he got around to see what it was and found the cub's head in his bucket of molasses.
Agitated, Billy cried, "Oh no…!"

Billy was a fisherman and a hunter, an outdoor personality. He always took a bucket of molasses with him when hunting and fishing because he loved pancakes for breakfast and would take a good-sized bucket. He didn't sprinkle his pancakes with the molasses; he poured it on.

The cub had molasses all over him. He didn't know how to get out of the bucket, so he stuck his little paw down and licked.
Billy yelled, "Get out of there." The cub turned and looked; molasses was in his eyes, and he couldn't open them. The bucket was empty. He finally got his eyes opened and looked at Billy and quickly ran off to his mother and the other cub, and they licked him all over.

Billy often would go to the woods because he found it refreshing and relaxing after his busy preaching schedule. He preached from city to city in the USA. And sometimes, he traveled to other countries to preach the Word of God. And sometimes told the story of the old mother bear and her cubs to lighten the atmosphere.

This is a cute story. You do a nice job of painting a picture. It could use some tightening up. You could combine sentences and cut off some unnecessary words. It made me smile and you have a great foundation to build upon.
