Interpret…
Elucidate…
Our minds base the “facts” on a small fraction of what our intellect perceives. Which can we therefor agree with the words of our creator? “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” (I Corinthians 13:12) (KJV)
Broken relationships not mended due to misunderstandings and/or perceptions of another individuals actions, and opinions…
Petty indifferences creating private wars amongst ourselves for what seems to “only” be for the sole purpose of wearing the victors crown of being correct…
“Braggers rights” seems to be an enormous arduous search for human acceptance among our fellowman, that we have lost all sense of purpose as to why we “donate to the cause” and/or do those “good deeds” in the first place.
Look at me! …is the cry within our soul. Can you see how important I am? Can you see all that I do for the community? Can you see what I own? …what I wear? …who I know? …where I have been? …what I have accomplished?
Shall we be fair in saying that we don’t have the fortitude to embrace these words of our creator: “But you, doing acts of charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing...so that the Father who sees you in secret, can reward you openly.” (Paraphrase: Matthew 6:3-4) (KJV)
Do our fears become so insurmountable that they lead us down a path of self-absorbed promotion of our accomplishments, that we no longer believe that God will “properly” notice and reward our achievements?
Rewards…
Recognitions…
Acceptances…
The three most salient sought after ambitions.
Is this not a race where the finish line cannot somehow be reached and/or quench our expectational thirst for restitution? …or the need to be the first and/or best in, and at everything we do?
Shall we again look to the words of our creator: “Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.…” (Paraphrase: Colossians 3:2) (Berean Study Bible)
Maybe… Just maybe… God is trying to convey a message to His people. Maybe… Just maybe… He is relaying this message: Turn your focus upward. …not below. Look to the heavens. …not to the horizontal plane of where mankind resides.
For it is there where the ultimate “finish line” exists. It is there where rewards and recognition will exceed beyond what our mortal imagination and creativity can comprehend.
It is there… Where what we acquire here on this terraqueous existence is only but a “drop in the bucket” to what we shall receive in eternity.
