"Naomi, it's so good to see you. Can I hang out with you and get to know your friends better?"
Naomi's face turned pink. "No! You can't"
Rebecca grabbed Naomi's arm. "Please, you're always with your friends. I never get to spend time with you."
Naomi clenched her teeth. "What part of no don't you understand?"
"Why can't we hang out together? I don't understand."
"Because you don't fit in."
Rebecca rolled her eyes. "What do you mean, I don't fit in?"
"Rebecca , you're always late, then we have to wait for you. Don't you remember the night we had to wait until 10 o'clock to eat because you were late getting home?"
Rebecca threw her hands in the air and sighed. "Naomi, if you let me spend time with you and your friends, I promise I'll get better about being on time."
Naomi started to giggle. "Your lamp is burned out. You're going to be late to the reception."
"I don't have to be. You can help me, just this one time." Rebecca clasped her hands together and put them under her chin. "Pleeease."
"Rebecca , I only have enough oil for myself. If you run quickly and find a merchant, then hopefully you'll get back in time."
Rebecca's frown turned into a smile. "You'll let me spend time with you and your friends?"
"Yes." Naomi shooed Rebecca away. "Go quickly."
About a half of an hour later, Rebecca vaulted back to the front of the banquet hall and looked all over for Naomi. Her heart jumped when she realized she missed her.
Rebecca pounded on the door and a grisly man with a sword answered. "May I help you?"
Rebecca's hands quivered. "I have an invitation for the reception."
"Sorry, but you're too late. There's no more room." The soldier closed the door and the locked clicked.
Rebecca banged on the door, "Sir, you have to let me in, please, sir, let me in."
There was a voice from the other side of the door that sent chills down her spine. "Sorry, I can't let you in."
Rebecca pounded on the door with both her hands and started to scream and fell on the ground crying. "I missed the bridegroom."
