TITLE: The Light Was Left On | Previous Challenge Entry

It's been kept burning while I have been gone.
It's message to me is perfectly clear-
It tells me, "You're loved by somebody here."
Somebody waited to welcome me home,
As, in the darkness, their welcome light shone.
Somebody waited, while I was out there,
Leaving the light on to show me their care.
Is your light still on for someone out there
Who may need to know of your love and care?
A lonely, lost soul who on a dark night
Decides to come home and there is your light.
A light that's left on takes away the fear,
Of a homecoming, saying, "You are loved here."
My desire is that Jesus' Light, like the light in the above poem, will
always be shining, in my house, to welcome home a lonely and lost soul.
God gave me a house that you can see
Then He breathed His Spirit into me.
He is renewing me from within-
From head to toe, I represent Him.
I'm an expression of Him, on view,
In the words I say and what I do.
I'm His expression that lost souls see
And I want His Light to be seen in me.
That's my desire.
