My Heart is hard and cold.
No love or tenderness can it behold.
Time has not a healing brought
To soothe the release of pain I sought.
Love for him was wrapped in devotion
Thinking he shared this same emotion.
His every desire became my mission
To fulfill with great submission.
The hurt and total rejection by him
Seems as though I must be in sin.
Why does my heart break so easy
Knowing what he did to tease me.
I must find a release for my anguish
To love again is my deepest wish.
But the hurt is much too great
To unlock the chambers of my heart.
Then comes a dream one night
Appearing in an awesome light.
As if one has come to take my sight.
I can not see, it is so bright.
Then in the scene, appears a man
Arms out stretched, key in hand.
A voice echoes loud and clear
Your heart is mine true and dear.
My dear, let your tears flow
I will wipe them from your brow.
Your hurting heart will love again
As I unlock the chambers from within.
Study Me in my Word so true
To know Me is to love Me too.
My love will never leave you
My love is lasting, forever new.
I awakened from my dream
To revel in this beautiful scene.
The light is dimming now, look.
I must arise , go find my Book.
I know it is for me a fact,
The Bible I must find to act
On what He revealed to my heart,
To read His Word as my part.
Can I love again, to open my life
To Jesus my Lord, keeping me from strife?
Yes, His Word tells me He’s love,
It’s my love for Him down from above.
My heart now is softened.
This key unlocks my heart so often.
Help me, dear Lord show others
The heart key of love for sisters and brothers.

God bless~
I would like to see you add one more stanza about forgiving the one that did the hurting. When this takes place healing can begin to take place.
I tried to think of a word that would rhyme with "flow" to replace "brow" but didn't. The tears would probably not be on the brow.
I like your diligence in working on the line length to make for easy reading and also finding the rhyming words.
Very good.
