When I was a teenager, I flat refused to be obedient. If my parent told me to stay away from someone it was as if, by saying this to me it was a guarantee, I would do what they told me not to do. It was not that I was deliberately thinking about not obeying, it is a built in component children our born with at birth. One of the first things we have to say to our children is no. We say No, and they test the waters to see how far they can go without getting wet.
I find myself as a Christian sometimes doing the same thing, I let my free will take over and not obey the Lord, and when I’m not obedient, I find myself in troubled water and have to call out to the Lord to send me a lifejacket, once again I have wondered in waters to dangerously deep. Why do we act like children in the Lord? If only we would obey, our lives would be a heaven on earth. Obedience is Gods only request, to obey him is showing God our devotion.
