The song hums softly through the air,
Tucking her sweet daughter into bed,
She plants a kiss with sweet care.
I love you my darling,
She whispered close to her ear,
In the morning you will awaken,
With our Lord Jesus, you will be near.
Heavenly Father, we love you so…
The mother begins her prayer sweetly,
I thank you for my beautiful daughter,
The cancer has taken her over completely.
We love you, Father with all our hearts,
The mother cries out her prayers, tears release
With sweet peace her daughter moves on,
Her love for her daughter will never cease.
“It is well, with my soul,
it is well, it is well with my soul”,
the song wafts from the surrounding voices,
“The clouds be rolled back as the scroll”.
A man lies on his death bed,
They sing him off with one of his favorite songs,
Surrounded by his family in his last hour,
His family sticks together and tries to be strong.
He speaks his last words,
Before he passes on,
“Do not be afraid and do not be weary,
although I will be gone, I will not be far …
and though we will be apart,
I know you will have peace,
For, you will live without me,
But in your heart, I will always be."
