"Rumor has it," said the gossip, as she spread the juicy news.
Soon all of her cohorts had their own imagined views.
Everyone then told another, who in turn did the same.
But the one they were hurting found no humor in their game.
The ugly tales that were spreading held much truth and error, too.
The dreadful hurt they caused another nearly broke one's heart in two.
If the whole truth should be uttered, with no falsehood added in,
It would be a harsh reminder to one who had committed sin.
How the wicked lies of gossip caused much added pain and woe.
As each word traveled further details grandly seemed to grow.
At last it came back full-circle to the place where it began.
It was now a different story for the telling had no ban.
When the tattler heard the chitchat, rumor reared its ugly head.
In gossiping, the words grew twisted, bearing the teller’s name instead.
When words spread and hurt another, learn this lesson very well,
The land of gossip and nasty rumors is not a righteous place to dwell.
KJV James 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

The meter was slightly bumpy in places--with a slight amount of tweaking, this would flow more smoothly.
This made me nod in agreement!
