TITLE: Little Said, Much Spoken | Previous Challenge Entry

So wondrous…grand…magnificent.
In awe, I could no longer stand;
My frame before Him humbly bent.
There was no doubt of His pure love,
Assuring we would never part.
Yet in the midst of warmth and brilliance,
Uneasiness tugged at my heart.
The Word spoke. I listened.
Little said,
Much spoken.
Inquiries searched my spirit’s depth;
All answers He already knew
To any questions He might ask.
A tear escapes. Regret slips through.
Evaluation of my deeds
And of my words from days gone by.
His righteousness determines if
I’d used His Book to guide my life.
The Word spoke. I listened.
Little said,
Much spoken.
Comparisons were never made.
Had I done more? Or maybe less?
But of His gifts entrusted to me,
The query was my faithfulness.
Assessment of my heart’s true motives
Were illumined now for me.
Hidden things were brought to light.
Here, no excuses would there be.
The Word spoke. I listened.
Little said,
Much spoken.
Were my actions and my efforts
All for Him or for my fame?
Did I desire for Him the glory,
Or my own sweet accolades?
There remained just one more question:
Had I been burdened for lost souls?
Had I prayed enough for their plight,
Or sought my own self-centered goals?
The Word spoke. I listened.
Little said,
Much spoken.
Rewards concluded my appointment
At this Bema Seat review.
The words I yearned to hear Him say to me
Were just a precious few:
“Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
