“Make a red velvet cake and take it to your enemy,” the Lord said to me, as I bowed my head in prayer one night.
This was the second time the Lord had put this idea into my mind. It had come gently the first time, but now He was planting it in there with all the permanence of cement...
The first time the idea had just been too much for me...
Too much pain ...
Too much fear ...
Too much pride ...
But now the idea was coming again...
Stubbornly refusing to look the other way until I dealt with it ....
Until I obeyed...
So, a few days later with my heart beating so fast ....
I prayed,
I wept,
and I baked a red velvet cake
and took it to my enemy.
No one saw - no one applauded - my right hand didn’t know what my left hand had done….
“What is done in secret, will be shouted from the rooftops…”
Prov 3:25
Then two years later, in a city 500 miles away, and in front of an audience of 200 people that included my husband and myself, the preacher suddenly stopped his sermon, turned in my direction, and said,
“You know, there is hardly anyone left in this world who has the courage to bake a cake and take it to his enemy.”
“The kingdom of God suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force”. Matt 12:11

The only red ink id offer would be to tell me more. I was wondering what the conflict was and it would have been a great opener if you could have shared that. I think many people would be able to relate even more. With that said, I also understand why you may not have wanted to go into more details, you certainly wouldn't want to hurt anyone by telling more about the relationship. I can definitely tell you have a tender and caring heart. Your message is a great one, and definitely needs to be brought up in today's world of business. Nice job.
