like a fairy tale, "happily ever after"
I turn away from the beauty
snapping off the bud of hope before it unfurls
I don't believe in fairy tales,
there's no prince to smile on me with sweet affection
Right?
Then why do I fall for flattery
and grasp at schemes to get-rich-quick?
Because deep inside I long,
I long, to believe the incredible
That there exists an exception
to the rule that constrains this world
One that shatters utterly
the refrain "you get what you deserve"
The peerless love of Christ
transcends the love we know here
There is no comparing it
there is no apprehending it fully
His yearning to know me
casts the light of grace upon my life
What have I done to deserve this?
How will I ever repay this indescribable favor?
The greatest "repayment" is to turn my face to him,
throw open my arms and grasp hold of the promise.
